This Is It...

...My final night in the contiguous United States for the next three years.

I just typed it and it still doesn't seem real.

My bags are packed.

My hair is back in regulation.

I'm ready to get back to the military life.

I'll keep this page updated; I'm sure to have a whole heck of a lot to talk about over the next few weeks. I'm planning to use my plane rides tomorrow to do some serious writing, and am hoping to have it up here by the end of the week. Like I said the other day, there's a lot to say about a lot of things, and I need to get some good closure on the events of the past months.

So...

I don't want to sit here and type out some long-winded Shakespearian goodbye, so I'll just...

Miss me?

I didn't really intend to not write anything since my last day of tech school, but that seems to be what happened.

Now that Alaska is only a few days away, I've decided to get back on with frequent updates, and hopefully I'll be able to continue the frequency for a decent long time. I managed to do it last month when I was over my head in Security+, so I really can't make excuses for not getting on here daily.

My downtime has been good. Uneventful. It's nice to just be able to unwind a bit after going through a few very stressful months, but I'm ready to get back in uniform and into my job.

Me on leave:

I need a hair-cut ⌐_⌐

Anyway, I do have some items of consequence that I need to write on here about, including my final words on the military training experience and how I survived it, but that'll come after I get settled in at Elmendorf. There are a lot of thoughts concerning this past year, and I'm hoping I'll be able to properly convey them.

I also need to get my burnwash.com site going, as it's extraordinarily blank right now. I'm not even sure I've mentioned it here before, but I'm planning to keep my personal journal-type blog up and running right here, but use the burnwash.com domain for a dumping-site for all my random randomness with no "real-life" stuff involved. Make sense? I've been wanting to do it for a while, and got the site-building bug at tech school, so I started to build it, but then my studies and my leave got in the way, so I'll get to it here in the next couple of weeks.

One final mention before I get off for the night. I have not written or spoken a word about Kamei Eri's graduation, and since I'm on here actively typing, I figured it's a good time to get that elephant out of the room. This is the first truly heartbreaking J-pop graduation I've had to deal with. Seeing her grow up over her seven-year career, and considering her amongst my favorites, it's hard to accept that she's leaving Morning Musume. I imagine I'll end up writing a nice long tribute to her eventually, but right now I just want to say that she'll be missed.

♥♥♥

Phew...finally got that off my chest.

G'night.
